
Jerry Pilcher (Honorary Chairman)
Rotary Past President Jerry Pilcher was born in Peteborough UK. His education included studies in Economics and Statistics. Since arriving in Australia, has held management positions in catering, as a Regional Manager with Snap Printing, managing the opening of franchises in a number of countries and presently as the franchisee of Snap Printing Balcatta. spending a total of 34 years with the company.
Jerry has been a member of the Rotary Club of Scarborough since 1988 and has been very active on club and district committees. He enjoys sailing and playing field hockey. Jerry is married to Kerry and has 3 children

Gordon Hudson (Honorary CEO and Treasurer)
Born in London in 1933. Spent 2 years as a Radar Technician in the RAF and later graduated as a food technologist and with qualifications in engineering and business management. In the UK he was employed for 12 years managing food factories On immigrating to Australia, he developed and managed his own business, developing and manufacturing Chemical Controllers. He was elected an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management but is now retired from industry. Gordon has been intimately involved in WFK since its inception, managing and administering and has been a driving force behind the success of the project. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Scarborough WA since 1968 and as such is WFK’s Ambassador for Rotary and Service Organisations. Gordon is married to West Australian Kathleen and has 3 daughters and 4 stepsons.

Peter Whyte B.Ec LLB (Honorary Secretary)
. Peter has been a member of Rotary since 1990 and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Peter is WFK’s Ambassador for the Corporate Finance and Commercial sectorsPeter Whyte is a retired commercial lawyer. As secretary of the Management Committee, he has had a long association with WFK. Peter was involved in the original incorporation of Wheelchairs for Kids and also managed WFK’s successful application for Tax Charity Concession and Deductible Gift Recipient Status from the Australian Tax Office, granted in 2008. Peter is also a committed campaigner against domestic violence. He is a public speaker on the issue and frequently gives presentations to Police Force recruits and other organisations.

Oliver (Olly) Pickett AM (Volunteer Workshop Manager)
Born in 1941, Brother Olly Pickett is a retired Christian Brothers manual arts teacher. He started his teaching career in 1963 and retired in 2000. Olly has been involved with WFK since early days. He is one of a number of volunteers who donate their time virtually on a full time basis and has been a driving force behind the success of the project. Olly was appointed to the Order of Australia on 9th June 2003 for his service to education and to the community, particularly people living with disabilities, through the Wheelchair for Kids project. He is naturally WFK’s Ambassador for the Education sector.

Robert (Bob) Sheridan (Volunteer Workshop Representataive)
Bob Sheridan was a high school teacher for 30 years specialising in mathematics, physics and chemistry. He holds a BSc in chemistry from UWA. He has had experience both as Head of Science and Deputy Principal of several High Schools. Bob has been involved with WfK since 1998 and for the last eight years has acted in a coordinating and administrative role in the Wangara workshops. Bob is editor and publisher of our colourful workshop newsletter "The Drill"

Br Peter Negus (Christian Brothers Representative)
Born in 1937, Peter joined the Christian Brothers Congregation in 1954 and after completing his Teacher's Registration Degree in 1958, commenced teaching at St Leo's College in Box Hill, Victoria. Peter completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Western Australia in 1973 majoring in Aboriginal Studies. In 1997 he was elected to the Christian Brothers Leadership team, Holy Spirit Province (W.A. & S.A.) and is a Trustee for the Christian Brothers. Peter sits on the Boards of 4 Colleges across Western Australia and South Australia.

Bob Izett (Volunteer Workshop Representative)
West Australian born Bob is a retired Mechanical Engineer with additional qualifications in Post Graduate Administration. Bob started his own contracting business in 1984 and as a Project Manager constructed large mine treatment plants. He has also managed an international mining supply company’s Perth office and established and managed a CNC machine shop. Bob commenced working as a volunteer at WFK in 2007 Bob started his career as a design engineer and has used skills developed in assisting with the recent design and manufacture of the latest model wheelchair.
